1 Roof hooks

Pantile roof hooks have been specially developed for use on pantile roofs and are screwed directly onto the rafters. For a batten height of more than 30 mm, we recommend using rafter shims and correspondingly longer flat head screws for the PV mounting system for tile roofs. ALTEC also supplies height-adjustable roof hooks and roof hooks with quick adapters.

2 Profiles

ALTEC mounting rails have a slot width of 22.4 mm to accommodate the hammer-head bolts. This means that the rails can be fixed to the roof hooks or a cross-connection can be installed. All pre-assembled ALTEC PV module clamps fit these profile rails. Rails can be sent in 6 metre lengths or cut to the required size.

3 Clamps

ALTEC supplies clamps for different module frame heights, which are available as mid-clamps or end-clamps. You can use black anodised clamps to install black solar modules with matching colours. The clamping block is particularly easy to install and clicks perfectly into the groove of the ALTEC profiles.

Components for shingle and slate roofing

1 Roof hooks

Shingle and slate roof hooks are screwed through the formwork onto the rafters. Two countersunk wood screws 6 × 80 mm are required to fasten the short shingle roof hooks, and three countersunk wood screws 6 × 80 mm are needed for the long slate roof hooks. After installing, the roof hooks for PV systems have to be carefully sealed.

Plain tile roof hooks for plain tile roofs are attached directly to the rafters with two flat head screws. As the long overhanging bracket of the roof hook for the PV system rests on the tile underneath, we recommend replacing the clay tile with a metal tile when installing a PV mounting system for tile roofs.

For all clamp fasteners you must ensure that the first rail run is at a right angle to the seam. If required, install a cross-connection. We recommend having the connection between the roof cladding and the roof structure checked by experts to make sure that the system is installed safely.
